OUR STORY

My name is Kiran Mittal, a student of culinary arts at The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, New York.

I began my culinary journey as an eight-year-old child with my grandmother. She was an excellent cook and used to serve everyone with a smile. It was fascinating to see how she loved to cook every single day. I don’t even know when I fell in love with cooking. I still can feel the taste of her food somewhere in my memories. Food is my emotion and it is my expression of love. Kitchen was always a happy place. It makes me happy every time I cook. My friends always used to tell me to start my own restaurant. It was my retirement plan as I have been working in the exhibition industry for the past 15 years. I got a chance to travel to several countries and explore different cultures. My travel was not food-related but unknowingly it developed my pallet so much so that when I decided to pursue this course, I just knew this is what I want to do going forward.

ABOUT OUR COMPANY

It always excites me to explore several cultures and food habits. Food is something that can bind total strangers. I want to create a global culture of food where there are no prejudices and inhibitions. Food is the only topic that captures everyone’s attention. One can share a meal with a total stranger and learn about each other.

My food philosophy is- food is our emotion connected to all our senses. Lets keep it simple and enjoy it. I want to be true to the flavours of cuisines.

I aim to be a better cook every single day of my life. Food is God’s blessing on a plate so I respect all cuisines and would love to explore as many as I can.

I hate to see food getting wasted in every place and almost every other restaraunt. Going forward, I will take it upon myself to make sure I am able to contribute to the hunger issue of the world. If I am able to feed one less fortunate person, I will consider myself lucky.

I really don’t know where this journey is going to shape up, as I would like to keep it a journey and not a destination.
